Commissioning of the new corrugater of Bourquin SA at the Oensingen site
Oensingen, 19 November 2024: With a comprehensive investment package, the Swiss family-owned company Bourquin SA is further developing its production site in Oensingen/SO.
The core of the development is the installation of a new, state-of-the-art corrugated cardboard system. The machine went into production today, 19 November 2024. Not only will the investment considerably increase production capacity, but it will also make a tangible difference to the flexibility of delivery as well as productivity and quality.
This modernisation will also significantly increase the sustainability of the packaging production. The new installation reduces energy consumption, and photovoltaic panels have been installed on the roof of the new construction as well as on the existing Bourquin SA buildings in Oensingen.
The 120-metre-long system with corresponding logistics from the Bavarian machine manufacturer BHS Corrugated is a machine with a working width of 2.80 metres. The production speed can reach over 300 metres per minute. With the commissioning of this new corrugated cardboard system, not only the old corrugated cardboard system will be replaced. In addition to increasing production capacity by up to 30%, it will be possible to produce corrugation types and combinations with lighter paper grammages in the calibre range of E, F, B, C, D, EE, EB, BC, F and FE corrugations. The new technology will reduce makeready times, optimise paper stocks and ensure a reliable supply chain.
With this step, Bourquin SA confirms its position as a leader in quality and innovation in the field of corrugated cardboard packaging.
